Permanent teeth (32 in total) erupt first in lower jaw
- 2 incisors
- 1 canine
- 2 premolar (in each half jaw)
- 3 molar
NB: 1st molar erupts before any deciduous teeth shed.

- neurovascular supply
- lays down dentin
Dentin
- microporous structure
- surrounds pulp
- never normally uncovered
Enamel
- covers coronal part of tooth
Cementum
- covers root part of tooth (in gum)
softer than enamel
