About Me

FMCResusTeaching

I am an Australian Emergency Physician working in a busy Tertiary Hospital in South Australia.   I qualified as a Consultant in 2003 and have an interest in evidence-based Medical Education.  Over the years I have been involved in teaching at all levels including EM trainees, medical students, nurses and paramedics.   Although I embrace the philosophy of #FOAMed, one of my frustrations is the lack of comprehensive resources suitable for junior doctors.  I am concerned that some information whilst valid may be misinterpreted or misapplied due to a lack of basic knowledge or understanding of context.  My other interest is EM practice in the developing world and similarly find that consensus statements written in a first-world setting may be impractical to apply in resource-poor health systems.  This is my attempt at addressing these gaps.
